今日は皆さんにちょっとしたお知らせがあります！私の人生が大きく変わる契機となった、大きな出来事、それが今回新たな節目を迎えます！

何のことかというと、このブログの２周年記念ということです！

I went through every single article I have written in the past year and whittled it down to the top 20 entries. Thats a lot since i bust out 5 to 10 posts a week! Half were popular with the public, the others are my personal favorites. I wonder if you can tell which is which? You get one guess. 
 
For the Anniversary I am planning some giveaways next week which are going to be awesome! Clothes and accessories you can’t get anywhere else!

最近注目を浴びてる「秋葉原ファッション」って何なんでしょう？そもそも存在するものでしょう？スーパーアングラSHOP「伍戒」に邪魔して訪ねてみた。

Akihabara is like, the coolest thing since plastic sushi keychains. It has become greatly popular for its influence in mainstream pop culture in japan, taking cues from anime, manga and idol culture. It has influenced the fashion set too with candy colored cosplay-ish clothing, cat ear hair, the “kawaii” phenomenon and other hints of 2-D aesthetics with big colored contacts, wigs and a child-like demeanor. But is there any fashion IN Akihabara itself? TENKI is the name of a Tokyo-based trio of artists that create work that is so truly breathtaking and innovative that Mori Art Museum better have them on reserve when enough pieces are made to fill the museum….that should probably be very soon, even though they tend to show only once a year. What does “2.5 Dimension” in fashion mean? For a fashionista this is so easy to understand its almost scary..in the industry it’s like living between the real world and the fantastic  pages of fashion editorials in the magazines. Oh how we wish we could swath ourselves in McQueen gowns with chiffon that goes on for days as we hunt for peanut butter at the supermarket! FASHION MOMENT ALERT! ALICE AUAA’S GOTHIC ALICE IN WONDERLAND ON THE TOKYO FASHION WEEK RUNWAY.

Gothic brand Alice Auaa put on one of the most visually stimulating shows of Tokyo Fashion Week. It was one of those “fashion moments” that makes you want to jump up and do a lap around the runway with confetti and a bouquet of flowers for the designer. They went and put on one of the COOLEST shows I`ve seen in person. ゴシックテイストで知られるAlice Auaa、今シーズンの新作は東京ファッションウィーク中最も視覚を刺激きてくれたショーの一つ。ショー終わりの観客の心はこのファッションモーメントで満たされ、足取りまで軽くなるようだった。Alice Auaaは最高にクールな演出を駆使し、立派なコレクションブランドとしての評価を獲得したのだ。限りなくコンセプチュアルかつシアトリカルなショーは、McQueenやGallianoと比べても遜色無く、インスピレーションに満ち溢れていた。続きはこちら

Anrealage is taking a cue from its own name by sending out a collection that was so good it was “unreal”

It began with a parade of crinolines in black light, like a scene that would belong in Tron. What followed was a study on framework or the invisible exoskeleton of an item of clothing as seen from designer morinaga’s imagination. His framework is extremely detailed, using high-tech laser cutting on most pieces to create complicated designs of lattice or beams reminiscent of art deco-period architectural blueprints….read more here
 
Unreal(現実味が無い)という単語がブランド名の由来の一つになっている、Anrealage。いつもその名の如く長現実的な作品を送り出してきたこのブランドが今回発表したのは、今までの中でも最も素晴らしいUnrealなものとなった。
 

まずショーは、暗転しブラックライトが照らされた会場に登場した、暗闇で光るクリノリンで幕を切られた。映画”トロン”を彷彿とさせる第一幕に続くのは、フレーム、もしくは骸骨のような格子柄の洋服。この格子がまた森永さんのイマジネーションが炸裂しており、ハイテクのレーサーカットを用いくり抜かれたそのデザインはさながらアールデコの建築物のような印象だった。・・続きはこちら

The Canadian designer released her newest collection (her 4th) and she is NOT pulling back on the creativity and ball-of-amazingness. It’s titled “The Present of Civilization” and it surmises on the destruction of the earth by the hand of humans. In particular, she zoomed in on drilling and the corrosion of the earth’s crust. The details are just incredible… see the fossilization of cave stone, the rock quarries, the oil drills, and sand beds that become the shoes’ heels….read more here

“Ahcahcum Muchacha” is unlike any brand I have ever come across before. It’s sweetly tinged with poison…it’s a bone in your fish there to choke you…it’s a worm in your chocolate-dipped strawberry, it’s a doll that comes to life to scare you into a heart attack. Seriously. You either love it or it freaks you out and you have to squint your eyes at it like watching a horror movie. In all honesty, it’s really just an innocently cute brand…read more here

今回のテーマは“チャーミング”ということで、全て日本のブランドでまとめて最強のチャーミングスタイルを作り上げました。また洋服だけでなく、今回の撮影チームのメンバー各々が本当に素晴らしく、今まで私が参加させて頂いたファッションシューティングの中でも指折りの素晴らしい出来映えとなりました。何を隠そう、今回のモデルは今や世界を舞台に活躍するジャパニーズビューティー、JUN(image)！彼女の美しい容姿に加え少女的なスイートな部分を引き出した写真の上には、Gotoh Yuricaさんの描く繊細かつ大胆なイラストレーションが加わりよりファンタジックに。続きはこちら

My favorite post you wrote was the “Working in Japan: Stylist Version” that’s really something to read! And your SOEN posts are always just nice and embracing of fashion.
