This is what happens when major personalities collide. Magic! Shot for Taiwan-based alternative magazine Zine (素人)、it was concepted by my friend and stylist Kosei Matsuda and shot in Tokyo this summer. He told me he wanted to do a shoot inspired by my personal style, and asked me to gather as much of my favorite accessories, hats and wigs as I could to pair with my favorite Tokyo brands. Then he asked if I would make a cameo in the shoot..and finally, the whole shebang was named “A Lot Of Misha Janette”. I couldn’t be more humbled and happy with that honor!
強い個性を持つ撮影メンバーが集結するとこんなにマジカルな作品ができる訳。Zineという台湾発の雑誌のために今年の夏に東京で撮影したものだけれど、コンセプトを生み出したのは私の友人でもあるスタイリストのKosei Matsuda (AVGVST)。”ミーシャのマイスタイルからヒントを得た撮影をしたい”って最初に話をふってくれたから、ミーシャの好きな東京ブランドとコーデするために、とりあえず私物のアクセやヘッドピースとウィッグを用意。そして、その次は”ミーシャも出れば？”と言う話になり、最終的にストーリー名も”盛り沢山のミーシャジャネット”までとなった。驚っ！なんてうれしい！
I love this concept because it’s totally my style…you’ll notice perhaps that we are out on the streets, but it’s not “street style” per se. It’s more of a hodgepodge of high-fashion, couture, DIY and good old fashioned weirdness. This is a marriage of fashion and art, and everyday is a runway to show it off. Loving it! You’ll see not only my hats and wigs but also necklaces, rings and everything else I own being used to create the elaborate hairstyles. Those need their own fashion story!
自分で自分のスタイルをそこまで分析することはなかったかれど、この撮影でミーシャのエッセンスを確かに出ている。例えば、ストリートで撮影しているのに、これはけして”ストリートスタイル”のではない。どっちかというと、ハイファッション＋クチュールとDIY感に個性的な着こなし。それでも洋服はすべてリアルクローズとして発表されている。美術とファションの融マリアージュはこういうことですね。まさに、毎日がランウェイ！写真のポイントはミーシャの私物の帽子やウィッグはもちろん、ネックレスやブレスなども使用した構築的なヘアデザイン。天才的なこの作品はもっとクロースアップしてほしいな！
I can’t thank the team enough and they were incredible. From Kosei to Photographer Uchiyama and amazing art director Chihara (who let us borrow his Lemon Life studio…where he was setting up Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s kimono from her coming of age ceremony that he helped create) and brilliant hair artist Ryoji Imaizumi (SIGNO)…. not to mention models Judy and Joyce from Taiwan, Harajuku model RinRin Doll, Sayo Yoshida and the cool Shunsuke Okabe.
これを参加されたみなさまに大感謝！コンセプターとスタイリストのKosei Matsuda、フォトグラファーの Takuya Uchiyama、アートディレクターのあの 有力れもんらいふのChiharaさん (スタジオも貸してくれて、感謝！こちらはとてもインスピレーションに溢れてるスペースで、撮影中はきゃりーぱみゅぱみゅの振袖をはじめ、数々の素敵な作品が並んでた）。ヘアを作ってくれたRyoji Imaizumi (SIGNO)、そして奇抜なメイクのKanako Yoshidaさん、ありがとう！最強モデルの台湾人のJudyとJoyceに RinRin Doll、Sayo Yoshidaと美男系の Shunsuke Okabe。
