LET’S DO COFFEE AT ARMANI! NEW EMPORIO ARMANI OPENS WITH SAY LOU LOU, TOKYO’S FIRST ARMANI CAFE

「アルマーニで打ち合わせしよー」なんて、素敵な言葉！表参道の新エンポリオアルマーニ、東京初カフェ同時にオープン！

The Omotesando promenade is like NYC’s Madison Avenue; it’s luxe, expensive, and glitters with glitz. And unlike the NY counterpart it is short with just a 10-minute walk from one end to the other. So if a luxury brand has a spot here, there’s really isn’t much one can do to “grade up”. Except that is, when a brand new building opens affording buzz and newer digs. This is the case with Emporio Armani which just opened in the new Omotesando OAK building (formerly the Hanae Mori Building)  jut next door to its old location. Here, they got two floors plus a *cafe* in the back. 

日本でも指折りのリュクスなショッピングエリア、表参道。ニューヨークでいったらマディソンアヴェニューといったところか、浮世離れしているようにすら感じられるゴージャスな並木道は銀座のなどと並んで日本のラグジュアリーファッションシーンを常に牽引してきた。そしてその中でランドマークの一つとして長きに渡り愛されてきたハナエモリビルが売却されたことは業界内外の話題をさらったが、その後またしても話題をさらうことになったのが新しく入ったオーク表参道ビル、そしてそこに入ったエンポリオアルマーニのブティック兼日本初となるアルマーニカフェだ。

The opening was completely packed with revelers, like there hadn’t been such a big party in a month ..oh, that’s right, there wasn’t! They had DJ Mystery Jets on the mens floor upstairs and on the main floor it was all about upcoming superstar duo Say Lou Lou who rocked the “Armani Suit” in a youthful, pixie way while performing. It was a really great crowd, with venerable veteran editors, young street kids, club kids, celebs, fun drunkies and a load of cameras all mixing through the store.

I`m pretty stoked about the cafe! Aside from Montoak on the other end, there really isn’t a “the” place to go for coffee on Omotesando. Maybe this will be the new hangout spot? Being Italian, you can expect some good espresso (and they sell chocolates too). So meet me next at Armani?

あと個人的に気になったのが、横に併設されたカフェ。Aのロゴが刻まれたアルマーニドルチのチョコレートも味わえるこのカフェは、表参道の新しいハングアウトスポットとして重宝すること間違いなし。だって、“アルマーニカフェでミーティングね”って言ってみたいじゃない？
