Anrealage is taking a cue from its own name by sending out a collection that was so good it was “unreal”
It began with a parade of crinolines in black light, like a scene that would belong in Tron.
What followed was a study on framework or the invisible exoskeleton of an item of clothing as seen from designer morinaga’s imagination. His framework is extremely detailed, using high-tech laser cutting on most pieces to create complicated designs of lattice or beams reminiscent of art deco-period architectural blueprints.
Unreal(現実味が無い)という単語がブランド名の由来の一つになっている、Anrealage。いつもその名の如く長現実的な作品を送り出してきたこのブランドが今回発表したのは、今までの中でも最も素晴らしいUnrealなものとなった。

At times, it was so genius in its precision I thought I was looking at a sketch study from Leonardo davinci’s notebook. He used this concept on every piece a person could need in their wardrobe too, from riders jackets to a skirt suit.
The amazing thing about anrealage is that morinaga manages to produce a collection that is not derivative either of other brands and even of itself every single season. The only real signature you will see is the mastery level of patchwork that is always included on some pieces every collection.
言い換えれば、この天才的なディテールは見れば見るほど細かく、まるでレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチのスケッチ画をみているかのようだった。更に驚くべきは、この技法を使ってありとあらゆるものを格子にくり抜き、ライダースジャケットやスカートスーツまで全て編み編みに仕上げてしまったのだ。
どれだけ期待していても、毎シーズンその期待を遥かに上回る驚きを与えてくれるAnrealage。そのスタイルは毎回全く異なるものばかりだが、唯一共通して見られるのがパッチワーク。その卓越した技術で製作されるパッチワークを用いた洋服こそが、このブランドの見えない骨組みの一つなのかもしれない。
I am not above putting anrealage on the same level as Hussein chalayan when it comes to conceptual fashion that has soul. I can’t wait to go to the exhibit and see them up close. Morinaga, here’s the deal; take my money and GIVE ME THESE CLOTHES.
Anrealageのコンセプチュアルなショーを見ると、フセインチャラヤンなどの先人と比べたくなる人もいるかもしれないが、どちらも魂のあるデザイナー。その魂にをより良く理解する為にも、展示会でディテールまでじっくり拝見するのがとにかく楽しみでならない！展示会に行ったらオーダーし過ぎて破産してしまいそうな予感もするけど…笑
