And I mean that in the politest way possible, because Meg’s collection is so stunning I want to go crazy couch-jumping monkey Tom Cruise on her and cause a lot of embarrassed bows. Meg is a mad scientist, who not only developed a way of making lace from Japanese washi paper, but in just her 3rd collection she has also invented the world’s first wool 3D embossing technique. And she’s used it in a way that will tickle your spine… literally! Read on….

Her details are so subtle, you will most likely need a guide to point them out to you but this is hand-couture in the way high-fashion is meant to be. They are a simple wave at the collar of a jacket, a sharp curve at the back, and a perfectly coiffed petal collar. Or perhaps it’s the embossed impression of a back spine running up the middle of a long black jacket. The wide pants are so on point and so incredible in scale, I am tempted to throw my own out and replace them with Meg’s.

It’ s also in the details; she makes accessories as well, like the hiragana brooches and earrings made by hand by Filosa Minami, a couture embroidery artist from L’Ecole Lesage who is in charge of the Au Fil de Reve couture atelier.
Meg is still such a young designer it will be hard to make her a superstar right away, but I hope she can stick it out for a little while because I want to see her succeed HARD. She assured me the 3D embossing technique will show up in the next collection as well, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
