GVGVデザイナーのMUGとインタービュー
1) How long does it take you to design one collection? And are you a sketch or no-sketch designer?
Since we start on the next season as soon as the fashion show finishes, it takes about 5 months. I do sketches.
１）期間的に、一つのコレクションをデザインするのに、どれぐらいかかりますか？また、スケッチ派ですか？スケッチ無し派ですか？
showが終わってから次がスタートするから、およそ５ヶ月間。スケッチ派。
２)For this new collection, about how many sketches did you do? From those how many did you make samples of and then put on the runway?
I don’t remember exactly, but I drew about 200. From that, we made about 100-120 samples.
２）今回のコレクションにつき、何点のデザイン画を描かれましたか（デザイン画なければ、予定していたデザインとする）？その内、何点が実際サンプル化され、ランウェイに登場させましたか？
覚えてないけど200以上。実際にサンプル化したものは100～110くらい。
３) If you weren’t punching out designs, what would you be up to?
I don’t know, I can’t imagine doing anything else.
３）デザイナーしていなくれば、どういう仕事をなさってると思いますか？
今では他の仕事が想像出来ない。
４)G.V.G.V. ‘s base aesthetic lies in the mix of masculine & feminine right? On top of that, where do your ideas for each season come from? Also, what was a specific inspiration for your SS 2012 collection?
I get my inspiration from the people around me everyday. People, things, music, movies…everything. 2012 ss was all about pastel tones and Miami Beach.
４）G.V.G.V.は”マスキュリンxフェミニン”をベースに、洋服を提案するブランドだと思いますが、そのインスピレーションのもとななんですか？（旅行、写真集、音楽など）。また、SS 2012のインスピレーションは具体的にどこからきましたか？
インスピレーションは日常の全てから。人、物、写真、音楽、映画etc…全部。ss2012のインスピレーションはパステルトーンの色とマイアミビーチから。
5)Pin up girls seemed to play a big part in the collection too. Do you have a favorite pin up girl?

５）今回はピンアップガールのイメージは強かったと思いますが、特にインスピレーションとなったピナップガールはいましたでしょうか？（またはお気に入りピンアップガールはいますか？）

6) Let’s talk about your collaboration with the super-cool leather brand Blackmeans. How did that get started?
About 2 years ago I first saw Blackmeans’ work in a photograph and I truly was taken over by it. I hadn’t see anything like it! After that I happened to meet the Blackmeans guys at an event and they were just as cool themselves so we decided to collaborate.
６）前期から始まったブラックミーンズとのコラボのきっかけを教えてください。
2年近く前、最初にblackmeansの作品を写真で見て今迄感じた事の無い「凄い！」っていう衝撃を受けた。その後偶然イベントでblackmeansの人と出逢い、更にその人柄にも惹かれてコラボレーションをする運びに。
7) Music is a big part of the G.V.G.V. world. Can you tell me about your show soundtrack for this collection?
Since the collection was about 50s pin up girls I wanted to get something with a female garage-punk sound that was also nostalgic. I had trouble deciding which band to play.
７）G.V.G.V.というブランドにとって、音楽は特に大事な要素だと思いますが、今回のショーサウンドトラックについてご説明いただけますか？50’sのピンナップガールが大枠のテーマだったので、ガレージパンク的なノスタルジックで尚かつフィメールvocalのバンドという枠で、
どのバンドの音源にするかを迷った。
8) MUG, you DJ yourself too . How often do you spin? Can you tell me what kind of music you play, or what band you’re really into right now?
I DJ just about once a month. When I`m busy I do it about 4 times a month. I don’t stick to one genre, I play all from dance to rock.
８）MUG様はDJよくされると思いますが、月、どれぐらい回しますか？また、DJの時、どういう音楽を回しますか？今、はまってるバンドや曲はありますか？
月に1回程度。多い月で３～４回。特にジャンルは無いけど、ダンス、ロックetc…..。
9)Do you have any personal favorite used clothing shops you can share?
I like ALCATROCK in Ebisu and TORO in Shibuya.
９）東京でおすすめなビンテージ屋（古着屋）さんあれば、教えてください
恵比寿の「ALCATROCK」や原宿／渋谷の「TORO」とか。
10) Let’s talk fantasy. If you could collaborate with anyone today or in history, who would it be?
Andy Warhol.
１０）夢なコラボについて。もし夢なコラボができるとしたら、どの方とコラボしたいですか？（現在、過去、業界、非業界、問いません）
今は亡きアンディーウォーホールと。
