砂漠に思いを馳せて…最高のロマンスを見せてくれたTsumori Chisato 2013年春夏パリコレクション。あれ、でもサボテンはどこ？
So when I was a younger human I was obsessed with Southwestern style decorations. I collected it and turned my bedroom into a veritable Arizona souvenir shop. I had stuccato knickknacks of coyotes made of desert sand, Native American dreamcatchers, and an enviable collection of cactuses. I displayed these cactuses on my windowshelf to give them some much deserved sun (my room was in the basement) and it was often that my cat would knock them off and I’d be cleaning splinters off my bedsheets. That was the end of my love for the Southwestern. That, and I never actually made it to Arizona.
So Southwestern was ALL over the runway in Paris, often mixed with some cowgirl sensibilities. It was very literally spelled out at the Tsumori Chisato show which had coyotes, desert mountains and flowers, and the vast sunsets in illustration on nearly every piece. The colors are more primary than pastel and there’s a lot of rainbows and dark reds.

I wonder if Tsumori spent some some time in the Western US states, as seeing the prints of the snow-capped mountains reminds me of the Rockies Mountain Range, then leading down to Nevada and New Mexico. It’s really a beautiful area of the US if you’ve never been there. And if you have no plans to visit, well there’s always your local Tsumori Chisato boutique.
This look is amazing!
Ran into the Paris-side PR for Tsumori, my friend Jun and he invited us backstage afterwards. I have a few pairs of Tsumori’s sample shoes from the runway and they are so beautiful. These ones are no different! And the sunglasses are the perfect amount of absurdly large to be FASHION. Can’t wait to try some on ♥
