I met artist Muffinhead and some of his NYC nightlife club “kid” fantasy lanscape-creator friends today for a mini tour of Harajuku while they were in town for the Adidas @ageha party last Friday. They may have said that they wanted to visit DOG, but when I pushed for a visit before meeting I may have had an ulterior motive: SHOES. I don’t like shoes THAT much since I have strangley arched feet that tend to hurt no matter what I wear, but I have been ever so interested in flats and platforms recently. I KNOW, right!? And DOG has a plethora of creeper styles in tons of random, wild colors. I knew I was going to wear the skull outfit later, and I thought maybe I’d get some platforms to pull it together. In the end I couldn’t decide on one and instead went for heels…beautiful, but still they KILL. I need to go back and think this through rationally…
I was DJing at a coca-cola event earlier before the Phenomenon show and when I finished I changed out of a dress into the skull ensemble. A little girl saw me as I was getting into the elevator to leave and pointed, “Oh look mommy, a halloween costume!”. I corrected her, “No honey, this is MODE!”.
The top and skirt are by Yohei Ono, a participant in this year’s So-En Awards show. This look is so fucking cool *drool*
