This is Runurunu at it’s height. Take it or leave it, it’s your prerogative. And it’s my prerogative to talk about fashion that I think is rocking the world. I would go to this Runurunu to slip on something unique and cool when I am feeling especially confident and yet want to be comfortable. There is no better brand for that job.
Kawabe is the name of the designer and his work looks like a test car after a dummy crash: various attention-catching colors, fabrics and patterns mashed together in twisted, 3D renderings. His patternmaking affords him this “standout” look, where a Runurunu piece comes with it’s own undulating terrain.
His newest collection is a continuation of what we know about Runurunu, but I really love the white and red sweatshirts at the end. Survey says: chic! Actually, I have yet to confirm this, but the red and white is all very Okamoto Taro “Tower of the Sun“-esque, is it not?
And don’t forget to give a “pachi pachi” (clap) to street-famous model Sioux who pulls this brand off with aplomb.
