レトロ調とバロック調のクラッシュ。MOO PIYASOMBATKUのサングラス デビュー。
I`m talking about sunglasses here. I don’t pretend to understand them much, really..or I suppose, the celebration around every new pair that comes out. But as it goes they, along with perfume, are what make the industry go ’round. Like KA-CHING. But c’mon kiddies…they’re plastic.
I wear sunglasses for every day of my life now. I have such sensitive eyes that I can’t put my laundry out to dry on my balcony without causing tears to stream down my face from the pain of meanie UV rays. But still, I have exactly two pairs of sunglasses.
1. Is a pair of YSLs, that I bought in memoriam of Monsieur Laurent two weeks after he passed away in 2007 (ok, so really I was in layover at the Vancouver, CA airport and saw them at duty-free and just thought the latticework on the arms was just DIVINE. RIP be damned.). 2. I bought at Forever21 on a day I forgot my regulars for 6 bucks. They have the PERFECT frame shape for my face….I wear them all the time now.
So I already have one pair of sunglasses too many. Why would I need any more, I thought? Oh, my poppy…I do, I do. I caught wind this line, as seen above.
(ok fine…I like these too…って正直、この子は好きやけどな〜)
This line is brand new and helmed by a fresh 2010 Central St. Martins grad., Moo Piyasombatku.
The designer takes used real vintage frames and adorns them with handcrafted 17-18th century baroque embellishments created in ceramic. Each pair is completely original. I have never actually lusted after a pair of sunglasses before this. Oh, and they were picked up by CANDY in Shibuya and online, RIGHT NOW. This store is always on the ball. And these pairs of “SNEAKY”s are rollin’ all over it Looks like gargoyle bones ♥
