この皮肉まじりの言葉は、世界のトレンドをつくる有名雑誌で25年以上もクリエイティブディレクターを務めた敏腕編集者のものだ。もちろん彼女は自分の仕事に情熱を注ぐ、プロフェッショナルなクリエイティブディレクターであることはまぎれもない事実だが、そんな彼女の人生を豊かにするものが3つある。…黒色、ワイン、そして猫だ。
muveilの2017 SSでは彼女をミューズとしたコレクションを発表。彼女が愛してやまない、ワインと猫がたくさん登場するハッピーなラインナップになった。

This is a quote from the much beloved and 25-year veteran fashion editor of VOGUE, Ms. Coddington. As a professional, of course she was madly passionate about her job, but she said that there were three things that fulfilled her life: the color black, wine, and cats.
Along with being one of the smartest and wittiest women in the industry, she is also muveil’s 2017 spring summer collection muse (but unofficially, so let’s keep it between you and me). It’s a collection filled with whimsical details of the things she loves like wine and of course, cats.

There are so many things here that are quintessentially Grace; the untucked pajama top and gown, the extra long pencil skirt, the oversized pinafore…
But the collection’s piece de resistance is surely the “Swilling Fruit Wine!” embroidered denim jacket. It perfectly captures her joie de vivre, as well as the kitschy side of her personal fashion style. There are many other Grace-isms here as well, such as the “Gluten-Free” t-shirt (which is embroidered in seed beads), and defies the image that fashion industry types are hardened cynics.
This personal style was surely cultivated as a balance to her mentor and the editor-in-chief of VOGUE, Ms. Wintour. And although Grace is slowly winding down her storied career and is now freelancing as the creative director instead of being full-time, her presence is still felt all over. Did you know who she is?
