If you haven’t made it out to Kitakore in Koenji in some time…or if never (wth is your problem?!) then now is your excuse!
Until TUESDAY is two incredible awesome pop-up shops inside.
At the entrance you’ll find accessories brand M.Y.O.B. (which ironically means MindYour Own Business. Unless someone inquires the name of the brand you’re wearing…then feel free to tell them, of course). It’s designed by Tanimi and Comi, two unfairly stylish girls who would probably be models in Zipper if they didn’t decide to go to the US to expand their brand. It must have worked, but I honestly thought it was from NYC and not Tokyo since it gets talked about so much. The designs are very eclectic, big, and come with lots of foul but-I-dont-give-a-sh*t-

Upstairs is a popup by AMPM studio, one of Taipei’s coolest shops. Run by designer Joe “pet shop girl” and Andy, an artist, they cary tons of crazy colorful street-style accessories and clothes including their own two brands. It’s worth noting that the attitude here is much more strong and sexy as compared to what we usually see here, like mini-skirts on plastic and lots of mesh.

Lactose Intolerart’s Jacket
Andy told me the story behind this shirt; someone in Taipei stold one of his artworks and started putting up posters around town promoting something Andy wasn’t a part of. So in turn, he stole a graphic of the thief’s and made it into a Tshirt.
Joe, Judy and Me
Don’t forget that Joe is a major iconic force in Taipei, and is good friends with Judy Chou who is one of the country’s top fashion icons (and came to Tokyo for the popup)
As a bonus, check out ilil on the top floor of Kitakore, as shop-owner Rachel remodeled, redecorated and has tons of new products in!
