etw vonneguetのニューフェイス。MBFT 春夏2012年東京。
I rushed from the ato show to Shibuya to see etw vonneguet (thus missing In-Process by Hall Ohara :/ Why do the shows have to bump into each other when there’s so much open time on the schedule during the day?! Don’t get me started on Sunday’s Theatre Products and Paul Smith show debacle….). A cab ride and a trek up all the flights of stairs past the Mahjong Parlour to Gallery Conceal I thought I was making good time, but inside the venue, it was already a full house and the audience was looking downright ready to call it a day. We were perked up when the show started and models came out one by one, caressing a black light tube hanging from the ceiling. I couldn’t tell if it was a sexyact or if something was supposed to be happening. I realized then that the futuristic/mechanical print on the clothes was black light reactive and the models were just trying to do their best visual merchandising.
My favorite part were the two androgynous models in white hair, who looked to be twins. The girl is “Minori” and she is a “new face” that etw vonneguet chose from a big pool of amateur models. She was super cute, but I’m a sucker for bob haircuts anyway ;P
Olga is the designer for etw, and I know it sounds confusing, but she is very much so Japanese. Her collections aren’t necessarily so, though…they are harder to define (and certainly not Russian!). See for yourself.
