Crazy Horse is a legend in Paris, but as a burlesque show it may take some guts to…“step” in. Fashion is the art of covering the body, but it can also be just as inspiring when it’s torn away to reveal the body underneath. Christian Louboutin has been designing the shoes for the Crazy Horse show for years now, starting when Dita Von Teese was the special guest. As part of his 20thanniversary, and Crazy Horse’s 60th, he was offered the chance to be creative director of segments of the Le Feu (Fire) show and released a movie to go along with it. That movie is now being released in theaters in Japan in Dec and I got a sneak preview of it.

Yesterday I talked about hat/wig/mask designer Kamo Katsuya, the guy who turned down Bjork (and Isabella Blow, actually). Looking at his incredibly creative work means you’re looking straight at the face of the most avantgarde pieces in the industry.
Now he is branching out from magazine shoots and runway shows to test how the public will take in his taste of creative accessories. The hat/mask designer is collaborating with Jill Stuart, of all brands, for a limited line on sale coinciding with the exhibition at Laforet Harajuku until the 18th

“Bjork will call me up and ask me to sell some of the hat pieces I’ve made and I just can’t do it.”
What the hell kind of guy is it in this world who turns down Bjork? Kamo Katsuya, that’s who. And that’s not because he has some vendetta against the eclectic superstar singer, but rather because he has found his niche in being the go-to man for designers who want incredible hats and masks for their shows. When it comes to Japanese brands with creative headpieces one the runway, 99.9% chance Kamo is in charge. He’s also created couture designs for the likes of Chanel. He has reached legendary status within the industry for being a creative genius, but surprisingly this is the first time an exhibit dedicated to showing off a number of his works has been held.

Bjork appeared on stage at Fujirock this year full of air— a dress full of it, that is. Dubbed the “DNA dress” on her Facebook, it is a full outfit made of balloons weaved and tied together, a technique that designer Rie Hosokai, one-half of Daisy Balloon has perfected. It’s colorful, just like the image forged for Bjork’s new album “Biophilia”. The dress has to be made the day before at the earliest and has a very short shelf life, but the merging of two innovators couldn’t have made the work more worth it.
