Yesterday was the BeautiK Backstage fashion show for Laforet Fashion Week on the epnymous mall’s 6th floor. I appeared along with my Harajuku homegurls, Sioux (vive vagina designer) , Momo (Avantgard SA), Hirari Ikeda (DOG Harajuku SA) and Juria Nakagawa (Avantgarde SA) wearing clothes from Dissteady Own Philosophy’s AW 2012 and SS 2013 seasons. It’s a new underground brand with lots of folded patchwork and graphic prints on cocoon shapes with industrial accents (my leggings had a wooden bar screwed on the sides!).
Mad props to models who allow themselves to be kneaded like playdoh into creatures completely unlike themselves just for the whims (in my case, often odd) of photographers and stylists. Right before the show I almost had a mini panic attack… “I don’t look like *myself*!” I thought, feeling too nervous to step out onto the runway. No matter the media, be it TV or magazine or public appearance, I always do my own makeup and styling. So this was a challenge for me to step outside of my comfort zone. Time to build up some confidence callouses, methinks!
BeautiK asked me to collaborate with my wig brand Plumb, and we used the main line for the first scene and a new series with printed lace on colored bobs for the second scene. These are available at the BeautiK booth on the 6th floor for just ¥11,500 yen! I will be there tomorrow afternoon, from about 4pm so please come by!
Also in blonde, white, yellow and burgundy with gold lace

We all designed tattoo seals that are for sale on the 6th floor at the BeautiK booth. Thanks to BeautiK owner Kaori-san for directing and pulling off the show! It was a full house– thank you to everyone who came! Don’t forget I’ll be at the booth tomorrow from 4pm!
