In terms of fashion Miffy usually phones it in with a rather simple orange dress,
but for this special “Miffy in Fashion” exhibition at the Dick Bruna Huis museum in
Utrecht, Holland she’s gone very high-fashion, sometimes leaping into the cerebral,
experimental territory by the hand of a handful of global fashion designers.

I wasn’t familiar with the Miffy character until I first visited Japan and saw her
splashed on bento boxes and plastic file folders, and even then I thought the
speechless creature was a phoned-in friend of Hello Kitty.

Turns out Miffy is actually Dutch, coming from the mind of artist Dick Bruna, and is
one of The Netherland’s top 10 exports. Little bunny gone done good for ‘erself!

日本に来て初めてミッフィーのことを知った。お弁当箱やクリアファイルなどの主役の
ミッフィーは、てっきりキティちゃんの仲間の一人かとずーっと思っていた。
